Dear Amity,
ReplyDeleteI realize that I am not very smart, and you don't really have to tell me that "of course I am," but there is this teacher - and out of the 6 pre-algebra teachers, I had to get stuck with Mr. Abbott, who is the worst of all. YES, YES, I know that you are going to say that he's just trying to teach, because he's a teacher, duh! However, this is getting out of hand. We have a shortage of security cameras at our school and there are none in the hallway by Mr. Abbott's room, and he will literally HIT YOU. You need to answer a question correctly at least 10 times every day we have pre-algebra, and if you don't... even if you get a little part wrong, he will HIT US. I have bruises all over my back where people can't see, and in the shower is the only time I can find the time to change the bandaids and everything. Please, help... this is going too far.
Signed, Emily
Dear Emily,
DeleteIt is crucial that you tell someone. Whether it be your parents, the principal, or another adult you trust, someone needs to know. This is considered corporal (physical) punishment, and depending on where you live, it may or may not be illegal. Get the police involved too, even if no one trusts you. Sign a petition. Create a website. Gather up other students that have also been hurt. This needs to get out before is gets out of hand.
With love, Kat
Dear Emily,
DeleteHave you tried telling your parents? If that doesn't help, get the school counselor or principal involved. This has never happened to me, so that's all I can tell you.
